VirtualQueryEx from within the process ?

I need your input on this guys.

I need to find a certain pattern in memory.

So I thought about using VirtualQueryEx to gather all readable memory regions and dump each one until I find what I need.

Except if you have another idea for me ?

Anyway the question is, all the info I find on the web about this API call, talks about querying regions for a remote process.

If I inject a DLL into the process can I call it anyway ? Or is there a better way to do it from the "inside" ?
